Yes, the Trio Laksam Food Steamer features an external water refilling port so you can add water without opening the lid.
Q: Can the tray bottom be removed?
No. The tray bottom is fixed and cannot be removed. However, you can choose to use either 1 or 2 steaming layers, depending on the amount of food you’re preparing.
Q: Can I put a baking tray (loyang) inside the steamer?
Yes, it fits a 10″ × 10″ baking tray (loyang), making it suitable for steaming cakes, kuih, and other dishes.
Q: How do I clean the steamer?
Unplug it and let it cool first. Empty the water tank and wipe it with a damp cloth. All other removable parts are dishwasher safe. Clean the frame ring after each use, and never put the base in water.
Q: How do I remove scale from the heating element?
Fill the water tank to MAX, add a teaspoon of citric acid or a few lemon slices, and let the steamer boil for 30 minutes. Once it cools, pour the water away and wipe the heating element clean. Avoid scouring pads or stiff brushes, as they can damage the heater coating. Descale every 1 to 3 months.
